Plásticos Lezo joins the UN Global Compact in Spain

A new stage toward corporate sustainability.

At Plásticos Lezo, we have taken another step forward in our commitment to sustainability and business ethics. Starting in 2025, we are part of the UN Global Compact Spain, the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world. This membership not only represents recognition of the actions we have been promoting in recent years, but also reinforces our commitment to moving toward a more responsible management model, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a plastics processing company, we are fully aware of the challenge of combining industrial activity with a real environmental commitment. Therefore, we understand that sustainability cannot be limited to a trend, but must be integrated into the strategy, processes, and corporate culture. A path we have decided to pursue with rigor and a long-term vision.

What does it mean to join the Global Compact?

Our incorporation into the UN Global Compact involves integrating the Ten Universally Accepted Principles into our daily work in the areas of:

  • Human Rights
  • Labor Standards
  • Environment
  • Fight against Corruption

This framework is a roadmap for companies in all sectors to operate ethically, respectfully toward people, and responsibly toward the environment. At Plásticos Lezo, we embrace this commitment as a natural part of our evolution, reinforcing the values that are already part of our corporate DNA: integrity, quality, closeness, and a sustainable vision.

Three years building a solid environmental approach

Our adherence to the Global Compact is the result of ongoing work that began in 2022, when we decided to deeply reflect on the impact of our activities on the environment. Since then, we have developed a solid track record in sustainability, with milestones such as:

  • ISO 14001 certification in 2023: which allowed us to establish an environmental management system based on continuous improvement.
  • Carbon Footprint (CF) calculation from 2023 (Scopes 1 and 2) and 2025 (Product Footprint).
  • Adherence to Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) to avoid pellet losses and prevent plastic pollution in the environment.
  • Installation of photovoltaic panels in 2024 to reduce our energy dependence.
  • ESG assessment with EcoVadis in 2024 to measure our sustainability performance.
  • Implementation of a circular economy approach through the reuse of materials and improved energy efficiency in our processes.

Each step has consolidated a vision shared by the entire team: to be an active part of the change toward a more responsible plastics industry.

Purpose as a driver of transformation

Joining the Global Compact is not a goal, but a starting point. From now on, we will work to ensure that the Ten Principles are present in every decision we make as a company. From the selection of suppliers to the design of new products, including talent management and the continuous improvement of our processes.

We believe in an industry that not only provides economic value, but also social and environmental value. Therefore, we foster a purpose-driven business vision, in which growth is aligned with respect for people and the planet.

We are part of the change

At Plásticos Lezo, we aim to be a company that acts responsibly, listens to its environment, and seeks sustainable solutions for its customers. Our incorporation into the Global Compact is a consistent step toward that goal. We align ourselves with companies and institutions that share the same ambition: to build a more fair, inclusive, and sustainable future for all.
