Improvement in the evaluation of the EcoVadis platform

At Plásticos Lezo, we firmly believe that sustainability is not a destination, but a path of continuous improvement. That’s why we review our practices every year, measure our progress, and seek new tools to help us objectively assess our commitment to the environment, business ethics, and social responsibility.

In this context, the EcoVadis platform has become a key tool for strengthening our sustainability management system. In 2025, we improved our overall score in the EcoVadis assessment, which is recognition of the work done by the entire team and an incentive to keep moving forward.

What is the EcoVadis assessment and why is it relevant?

EcoVadis is one of the world’s most recognized platforms for assessing companies’ sustainability performance. It evaluates key aspects related to the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its methodology is based on international standards such as the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and ISO 26000.

Each company receives an overall score and a detailed profile outlining its strengths and areas for improvement. This rating becomes a differentiating factor within the supply chain, especially in industrial sectors and multinational corporations committed to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria.

What does the improvement in our rating mean?

Our improved EcoVadis score in 2025 is the result of a series of concrete actions we have been implementing since 2023:

  • ISO 14001 certification, which laid the foundation for our environmental management system.
  • Calculation of our Scope 1 and 2 Carbon Footprint (CFF), and more recently, in 2025, the calculation of our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).
  • Joining Operation Clean Sweep®, which reinforces our zero pellet loss policy.
  • Installation of photovoltaic panels, with the aim of reducing our energy dependence on non-renewable sources.
  • Joining the United Nations Global Compact.
  • Internal improvements in our purchasing, waste management, and document control policies.

Thanks to all of these measures, we have made progress in all areas assessed by EcoVadis, especially in the environmental and ethical management categories.

Transparency and commitment in our value chain

More and more customers and partners are asking us for concrete evidence of our commitment to sustainability. The EcoVadis assessment, being audited and updated annually, allows us to communicate our performance in this area with complete transparency, offering objective proof of our best practices.

This not only builds trust but also positions us as a responsible and committed supplier, especially for international clients with demanding ESG standards.

A tool for growth and improvement

Far from being satisfied with a good score, at Plásticos Lezo we see the EcoVadis assessment as a guide to identifying new opportunities for improvement. The report we received includes an action plan with specific proposals, which we are already integrating into our sustainability strategy:

  • Strengthen internal training on sustainability and ethics.
  • Further document our social and labor policies.
  • Establish annual targets for improvement in energy efficiency and resource use.
  • Enhance the traceability of sustainable purchases.

Our vision: sustainability as a factor of competitiveness

In a sector like ours, where plastic faces public scrutiny, committing to sustainability is not an option, it’s a strategic necessity. Improving our performance on platforms like EcoVadis not only allows us to meet international standards, but also strengthens our value proposition to customers, partners, and society.

The circular economy, energy efficiency, transparency, and business ethics are pillars that guide our activity and are part of Plásticos Lezo’s DNA.

We continue to move forward, step by step.

The improvement achieved in the 2025 EcoVadis assessment is a clear sign that we are on the right track. But it is also an invitation to keep moving forward. At Plásticos Lezo, we are renewing our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement based on data, audits, and concrete actions.

We will continue to integrate ESG principles into all areas of the company, collaborating with responsible customers and suppliers, and focusing on solutions that make the transformation of plastic parts compatible with respect for the environment.
