What is Yield strength?
Inicio » Dictionary » Materials »
Yield strength is the point at which a plastic material begins to deform permanently when subjected to a load. Before reaching this limit, the plastic can return to its original shape once the applied force is removed, but beyond this point, the deformation becomes irreversible.
This parameter is essential for evaluating the mechanical strength of polymers and determining their suitability for applications that require continuous stress resistance, such as structural components in automotive, construction, and consumer goods.
